Getting ready for our daily excursio-Amawaterways

I have completed the AmaWaterways River Cruise Specialist Program when I first started my travel business, however, due to my other career commitments, I was unable to personally experience a river cruise journey until 2019.  As an Amawaterways River Specialist, I was privileged to embark on the Ama Stella cruising along the Danube River visiting many interesting ports including Budapest, Vienna, Weissenkirchen, Grein, Linz, Passau, Vishofen, Regensburg, and Prague.


You might ask, what is the difference between the River Cruise and Ocean Cruise?  Or in other words, why should I consider a River Cruise?


Please allow me to share with you a few differences:



  • More intimate with less than 120 passengers on an average

  • More spacious cabin

  • Easier to navigate around the ship

  • Ship docks at major ports (no tender required)

  • Staff to guest ratio usually around 1:2

  • Meals included in all restaurants onboard *

  • An excursion with a guide in each port (multiple selections to choose from)

  • Sparkling wine and juices at breakfast; beer, wine, well spirits, and soft drinks at happy hour, lunch, and dinner *

  • Wi-Fi on multiple devices *

  • Fitness and wellness classes, facilities, and activities *

  • Bottled water and soft drinks in your cabin *

  • Bikes for use in port *

  • Self-service laundry *

Due to the size of the ship, I very soon have managed to create a very close bonding with my Butler, Cruise Manager, Cruise Director, Concierge, and Captain.  I even was honored to tour the Engine Room and Captain's Space along with a few other travelers.  As always, it brought me great joy meeting new friends from all around the world (Puerto Rico, Singapore, US, etc) on all of my travels.  The good times always seem to end when we were finally warming up to each other.  Thanks to technology, I continue to keep in touch with many fellow travelers via social media. 


With my combined personal and certificate knowledge, I also have new clients reaching out to me booking their retirement cruise - what an amazing way to celebrate this special milestone!  They will be cruising along with their best friends in July 2021 and planned to tour France and Switzerland pre and post their cruise.  The countdown is on.
